VASP (VASP)

Virtual asset service provider: FATF’s term for businesses that exchange, transfer, hold or issue virtual assets for others; in the EU, a crypto-asset service provider (CASP).

Overview

VASPs must apply FATF standards, including customer due diligence and the Travel Rule. Under MiCA, CASPs need authorisation and must meet governance, custody and conduct requirements.
